I. General Terms of Service

1. Who we are and what these Terms cover

Thank you for using flowkey. flowkey is a service provided by flowkey GmbH (registration number HRB 156653 B, Amtsgericht Charlottenburg), referred to as "flowkey", "we" or "us".By using the flowkey Service – including our website, apps and all related software applications (collectively the "flowkey Service" or "Service") – you enter into a binding agreement with us. This agreement comprises:• these Terms of Service ("Terms"), and• our Privacy Policy.Together they form the "Agreement". If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the flowkey Service.You may use the flowkey Service if you are at least 18 years of age. If you are between 14 and 17 years of age, you need the consent of a parent or legal guardian.

2. Changes to these Terms

We may occasionally update these Terms – for example to cover new features, meet legal requirements, or clarify existing provisions.When we make changes that affect your ongoing contractual relationship, we will notify you via the Service. For non-material and editorial changes, the changes are deemed accepted if you do not object within 2 weeks of notification. We will expressly draw your attention to this at the start of that period.For material changes – in particular price increases – we will obtain your active consent. Silence or failure to object does not constitute consent in these cases.If you object to a change, you may terminate the Agreement. We will only make changes that you can reasonably be expected to accept.

3. Your account and use of the Service

3.1 — Account

Creating a flowkey account is free of charge. However, most content is only accessible with a paid Premium subscription. The subscription entitles you to log in on all supported devices and access all unlocked content and features.

3.2 — Service

You use the flowkey Service for personal, non-commercial purposes. Commercial use – for example as a teaching tool in professional music lessons for a fee – is not permitted without our express written consent.

3.3 — Account sharing

A flowkey account is tied to a single individual. Sharing your login credentials with third parties is not permitted – regardless of whether a fee is charged. In the event of a breach, we are entitled to suspend access or terminate the Agreement. The flowkey Family subscription offers the official option for use by multiple people in the same household.

3.4 — Free trial

We occasionally offer a free trial period for the Premium Service. flowkey decides at its own discretion who may participate in a trial and may end or modify a trial at any time.For trials that require payment details: on the day after the trial expires, the subscription automatically becomes a paid subscription. The payment obligation following the trial will be clearly shown to you at the start of the trial and must be actively confirmed by you. If you do not wish to be charged, disable automatic renewal before the trial ends in your account settings.

4. License

The flowkey Service and all content made available through it are owned by flowkey or its licensors. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to use the flowkey Service for personal purposes.The flowkey apps are licensed, not sold. flowkey retains ownership of all copies, including after installation on your devices.You may not transfer or sublicense this Agreement or any rights hereunder. This expressly includes the purchase, sale or transfer of accounts and subscriptions of any duration.

5. Personalisation

The flowkey Service uses algorithmic features to personalise your learning experience – for example through learning recommendations and adaptive content based on your usage behaviour.This personalisation is based on data generated through your use of the Service. For details on data processing, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

6. User guidelines

flowkey respects intellectual property rights and expects the same from you. The following is not permitted:• Copying, recording or making available any content from the flowkey Service• Decompiling, reverse engineering or modifying the Service• Circumventing technical protection measures• Renting or lending the Service• Circumventing geographic restrictions• Manipulating usage statistics through scripts or automated processes• Removing or altering copyright notices• Sharing login credentials or using another user's credentials Please respect flowkey and other users. The following content or behaviour is prohibited:• Content that is offensive, defamatory, pornographic or illegal• Content that infringes intellectual property rights or privacy rights• Harmful code such as malware or viruses• Harassing or degrading other users• False identities or misleading information Your password protects your account. Keep it confidential and do not share it. If you notice unauthorised access, contact us immediately at support@flowkey.com and change your password.

7. Reporting copyright infringement

flowkey respects copyright. 8. Availability, content and third parties

flowkey makes reasonable efforts to keep the Service continuously available. Planned maintenance will be announced in advance where possible. Technical disruptions cannot be entirely excluded.flowkey is under no obligation to offer specific content on a permanent basis. Individual features may be changed or discontinued; for material changes, Section 9 of these Terms applies.The Service may include embedded third-party content – for example videos from external providers. Such content is subject to the terms of the respective provider. flowkey is not responsible for the availability or content of such third-party material.

9. Material changes to the Service

If we materially change or discontinue the Service and you are adversely affected as a result, we will give you at least 30 days' advance notice. You will then have the right to terminate the Agreement free of charge with effect from the date the change takes effect.Material changes include in particular: the permanent discontinuation of piano recognition, sheet music view or learning progress tracking. Non-material changes include: changes to the user interface, visual design or the addition of new features.If you continue to use the Service after the change takes effect, this will be deemed your acceptance.

10. Invoicing and right of withdrawal

To request an invoice, send an email to service@flowkey.com and provide the email address you used to register with flowkey. You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period is 14 days from the date the contract is concluded. To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us (flowkey GmbH, Alt-Moabit 103, 10559 Berlin, Germany, email: support@flowkey.com) of your decision by means of a clear statement. You may use the model withdrawal form below, though this is not mandatory. It is sufficient to send your notice before the withdrawal period expires. Consequences of withdrawalIf you withdraw from this contract, we will reimburse all payments received from you without undue delay and no later than 14 days from the day we receive your notice. We will use the same means of payment you used for the original transaction; you will not incur any fees. If you requested that the service begin during the withdrawal period, you shall pay us a reasonable amount corresponding to the proportion of the services already provided up to the point at which you informed us of your decision to withdraw. The right of withdrawal expires if we have fully performed the service and you have given your express consent for us to begin performance and acknowledged that your right of withdrawal will be lost once the contract is fully performed. 11. Term and cancellation

These Terms remain in effect until terminated by either party. flowkey may terminate the Agreement or suspend your access if you breach these Terms.You may cancel your paid subscription at any time up to the end of the current subscription period using the "Cancel now" button in your account settings. The button guides you through a two-step process that shows you the end date and consequences of your cancellation before it takes effect. Alternatively, contact us at support@flowkey.com with the subject line "Cancellation".If you do not cancel before the end of the period, your subscription renews automatically. After automatic renewal, either party may terminate at any time with one month's notice.Please note: if you cancel less than 48 hours before the end of the period, the payment may already have been initiated. In that case, we will of course refund the amount charged.If you subscribed via the Google Play Store or Apple App Store, cancellation must be done there.

12. Price adjustments

flowkey may adjust the price of paid subscriptions. Price increases will be communicated to you by email at least 30 days before they take effect.You have the right to terminate the Agreement with effect from the date the price increase takes effect. We will expressly draw your attention to this right in the notification. If you do not cancel by the specified date, the price increase will be deemed accepted.Price reductions and adjustments in the user's favour may be made at any time without prior notice.

13. Direct purchases vs. app store purchases

The provisions relating to purchase, invoicing, right of withdrawal and cancellation in these Terms apply exclusively to direct purchases made through the web version of flowkey.For subscriptions purchased via the Google Play Store or Apple iTunes, the respective terms and conditions of those platforms apply. Subscription management takes place exclusively through the relevant app store.

14. Payment

We work with external payment service providers. Depending on the payment method selected, their terms and conditions apply in addition to this Agreement. For details on the payment service providers we use, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

15. Warranties

flowkey ensures that the Service has the contractually agreed and objectively expected characteristics – in particular that sheet music is displayed correctly, piano recognition works and learning progress is saved. flowkey provides updates to the extent necessary to maintain these characteristics.If the Service does not meet these requirements, you are entitled, in accordance with the applicable statutory provisions, to remediation, a proportional price reduction or – in the case of material defects – termination (§§ 327 et seq. BGB).Beyond this, we provide the Service without express warranty as to its fitness for any particular purpose. Statutory warranty rights remain unaffected.

16. Liability

flowkey is fully liable for damages caused by intent or gross negligence, and for damages resulting from injury to life, body or health.For slightly negligent breaches of material contractual obligations, liability is limited to the typically foreseeable damage. Material contractual obligations are those whose performance enables proper execution of the contract and on which you may rely.Any further liability of flowkey is excluded.

17. Entire agreement

This Agreement forms the complete basis between you and flowkey. Prior agreements on the same subject matter are superseded. Any deviating terms submitted by you do not apply.Certain types of use may be subject to additional terms, for example gift cards or special promotions. These supplement – without replacing – these Terms.

18. Severability

Should any provision of these Terms be or become invalid, the remaining provisions shall remain unaffected. The invalid provision shall be enforced to the maximum extent permitted by law.

19. Governing law and jurisdiction

This Agreement is governed by German law, excluding its conflict of laws provisions, to the extent not mandatorily required by EU law or other applicable jurisdictions.For consumers resident in the European Union, the mandatory jurisdiction rules of EU Regulation No. 1215/2012 (Brussels I Recast) apply. Consumers may bring proceedings either before the courts of the member state where flowkey is established or before the courts of the member state where the consumer is domiciled.

20. Partner offers

flowkey may from time to time present you with offers, promotions or discounts from third-party partners ("Partner Offers"). flowkey acts solely as a facilitator – any resulting transaction or agreement is exclusively between you and the relevant provider.flowkey makes no warranties regarding third-party products or services and disclaims all liability in connection therewith. Sections 15 and 16 of these Terms apply accordingly.Partner Offers are only communicated with your consent. You may withdraw your consent at any time in your account settings.

21. Online dispute resolution

II. Additional Terms for flowkey Family

Please read the following additional terms carefully and in full. They contain important additional conditions and restrictions regarding the use of the flowkey Family subscription.The General Terms of Service of flowkey apply additionally, unless these additional terms contain more specific provisions.

1. What is flowkey Family?

flowkey provides the family subscription ("flowkey Family" or "flowkey Family subscription") as a paid service. The flowkey Family subscription allows the primary user and up to four (4) family members to access flowkey through individual sub-accounts. This requires that the primary account has been activated, the price has been paid, and the requirements of Section 2 are met.

2. Eligibility and verification

1. All users – the primary user and up to four sub-account holders – must be family members living together at the same address.2. When setting up the account, flowkey may ask for the home address.3. For ongoing verification, flowkey may occasionally ask for the home address again.

3. Cancellation

You may cancel your flowkey Family subscription at any time in accordance with the General Terms of Service. Cancellation by a sub-account holder has no effect on the primary account or other sub-accounts.When the flowkey Family subscription ends, the primary account and all sub-accounts are automatically switched to the free flowkey service. flowkey may terminate or restrict access at any time if the eligibility requirements are no longer met or another valid reason as defined in the General Terms of Service exists.

4. Further restrictions

Refunds or credits for partially used months of the flowkey Family subscription will not be granted where the cancellation is initiated by the user. Last updated: June 2026
